Sustainability is the topic of our time, in society, in politics, in business and of course also in art. How works, performances and projects can be realised in a resource-conserving or perhaps even resource-neutral way is only one, albeit the most obvious question. But the topic can also be broader: How far are the work and the creator allowed to move away from the place where it happened (and came into being)? Is art that remains on site possibly not only more sustainable, but also more authentic at the same time? One thing is certain: there is a lot to discuss, because the sustainability issue also calls existing (and very successful) collection and exhibition concepts into question.
