As part of the exhibition ‘Resonances – Flowing Encounters and Acoustic Interstices’ at the Stadtgalerie KH Lauenburg
The performance artist and scenographer has developed the performative sound installation ‘Hearing Trumpets’ for one or more participants for the exhibition ‘Resonances’. Visitors are invited to explore the Stadtgalerie with ear cups during their tour of the exhibition. The individual listening experience, amplified by the funnel-shaped ear cups, brings the outside environment inside, but also reveals the acoustic properties of the room itself. The specially made “amplifiers” direct the listeners’ attention for a certain period of time and encourage reflection on how inner and outer worlds, proximity and distance can be created, perceived and transformed. Maja Munksgaard Meedom offers the opportunity to perceive the acoustic landscape of Lauenburg “anew” in a guided walk through the town.
