During his working stay at the Künstler:innenhaus Lauenburg, German-Chilean composer Sagardía is developing a composition for two professional percussionists and a percussion-playing city, to which the entire city of Lauenburg is invited to participate by drumming. The work project is modelled on the Spanish festival Romper la hora! (roughly translated as: Break the hour!). Sagardía explores different musical concepts, including music projects in which amateurs are actively involved in the creation of music. In addition, since overcoming his own drug addiction in 2020, he has been intensively exploring the relationship between addiction and music, which he discusses in the form of music, lectures and concert talks.

The newly designed smük in the Künstler:innenhaus is an open meeting and event space.
