The fellowship for composition runs for 2,5 months (around 10 weeks). It starts on August 13 2018 and ends on October 31 2018.
The residency fellowship includes free use of an apartment and studio, including the costs for electricity, internet and telephone connection to the landline.
The fellow receives a single payment of 2.200 EUR for the time of his/her stay at the Künstlerhaus. This payment includes the monthly amount of the scholarship (700 €) as well es the fees for the premiere (450 €).
The result of the residence should be a composition, which shows the reflection on a specific project or topic, or a final processing of an already existing work. The programme will be performed in Lauenburg for the first time with the Künstlerhaus as concert promoter. The premiere should be around 20 min., included in a concert programme of about 60 min.
Professional international composers, arrangers, and companys may apply for a residency fellowship in composition at the Künstlerhaus Lauenburg. The applicant should be an instrumentalist itself.
The Jury for Composition is composed of:
- a professor for composition of the Musikhochschule (university of music) Lübeck
- a representative of the Forum für Neue Musik Schleswig-Holstein
- a former followship holder from the field of composition
- an extern representative
The jury meets by the end of January 2018. The fellowship candidates will then be informed as soon as possible.
A completed application includes:
- The completed and signed application form
- A portfolio that correspond to the requested criteria
- Transfer of the application charge in the amount of 10,00 EUR.
Applications which are incomplete or do not comply with the given specifications cannot be taken into consideration. Applications without the payment of the application charge are also excluded.
